Shibuya/Restaurants
UOBEIThis is a famous Sushi Restaurant in Shibuya.
The reason it's famous is because it's unique from all the other Sushi Restaurants. Most of Sushi places has a moving cart in front of the seats which carries the Sushi around the restaurant. In Uobei, instead of only putting Sushi on these carts, they put a lot of other menus as well such as Japanese Soup Noodles, Ice Creams, etc. So if you're travelling with another person and your partner likes Sushi but you don't, I'd definitely come here because it has great Sushi and the other foods are well-stocked too (; Another thing is that in normal Sushi restaurant, you have to shout out your order to the cook, which can be embarrassing if you're shy or just plain difficult if you're a foreigner. However, in this shop you have a panel in your seat where you order, and the food you ordered comes out on the cart instantly. There are English menus on this panel which can be very helpful. Also, there's a container for you to take some of the Sushi home (it won't last very long, but most restaurants don't have this system so it's pretty cool!) Nana-Shi Ra-men
If you're into Japanese soup-noodle (ra-men), I recommend this restaurant. It is called "Nana-shi Ra-men".
The 1st floor only has "counter-seats" but the 2nd floor is pretty spacious. The bathroom is on the 3rd floor.
They do not have an English menu, so I'll introduce some of their menu here:
My personal favorite is "Nana-shi Ra-men". The soup is very rich-flavored (pork-based) and oily so it is very filling."Cha-shuu-men" is another one of my favorites; it is also rich-flavored and oily and it contains a lot of toppings such as barbecued-pork, finely chopped green onion, and sea-weed.
They also have a lot of side-dishes such as bowl of rice with barbecued-pork called "Cha-shuu-Meshi", a Japanese dumpling called "Gyo-za", and half-boiled egg ("Hanjuku-Tamago")
Although it is one of the best Ra-men restaurants in Shibuya, the staff there does not speak English, so it might be a little hard to go there without any locals.
Segafredo
I know, this is not a Japanese cafe, it is located all around the world...
But what's special about this place is that it's one of the very few places in Shibuya that has free internet. But be careful because only the second floor has free internet access. So if you're looking for a place to sit down for a while and go on your iPad and browse the internet, I suggest you stop by here (: They also have amazing cakes that are pleasing to the tongue. Also, most of the staff here speaks English so after a long, hard day in a foreign country where no one understands you, this place might be a good place to sit down and breathe for a while. |

"Alice in Wonderland" Themed Restaurant
This magical restaurant will make you feel as though you're stuck in a world of Alice's dreams. The whole inside of the restaurant is Alice-themed; walls decorated with drawings of scenes and characters from the movie "Alice in Wonderland", floors and roof colored in mysterious patterns. Even the desks and the chairs are shaped and colored in an odd way to give that enchanting glow. The waiters here are usually dressed as Alice from Alice in Wonderland.

Mad-Hatter's Private Room
It is the only private room inside the restaurant, so it is very hard to book. This room can be used as a small party room. (8 Person Room) |

Food Menu All of their menus are Eastern European dishes. For lunch, they serve: Speaghetti, Rizotto, Meatloaf, Pizza, and for dessert they have waffles, ice cream, brownies, etc. For dinner, they have all sorts of crazy themed dishes such as "Cheshire Cat Pizzas" and "Queen of Hearts Chickens". There are more variety of dishes for dinner than lunch. This restaurant is not expensive, however it is not cheap either. If you're a person that eats a lot, you may order many dishes since each dish is pretty small. LOCATION: the location could be a little confusing it is UNDER the Bershka building. There is a staircase leading downstairs on the side of the building. |
TAPIOCA
This is not really a cafe, it is just a Tapioca stand. They do not have a place to sit so don't go there expecting to sit down for a rest.
Out of all the Tapioca Drinks I drank throughout my life, this place serves the BEST Tapioca drinks ever. I haven't tasted all their menus, but so far, all the ones I did taste were very delicious.
You can choose from black tapioca, colorful tapioca, or collagen jellies. I've never tasted collagen jellies but I heard it doesn't have much taste.
I like the black ones better because the colorful one has a lot of food coloring in it, and each color is supposed to taste all different, but to me, the whole thing just tasted like food coloring chemicals.
Not only do they have the best Tapioca drinks in all of the world, they also have very yummy crepes!
There are plenty of crepe menus as well and I'm sure all of them are very good.

KawanakaThis is a "Okonomiyaki" restaurant.
Monjayaki is a Japanese savory pancake containing a variety of ingredients, eaten with sauce and mayonnaise. People often come here with a crowd, for a dinner party because it's very cheap and you can eat a lot. The average price should be around ¥1,000~¥2,000 per person. Okonomiyaki isn't the only thing they serve, they also have roast beef, fried vegetables, salads, etc. The way these Okonomiyaki restaurant work is that when you order a meal, they'll give you the ingredients and you cook everything on your own on the iron-pan at the table you're sitting at.
